Qualities of Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheet
Because Multiwall sheeting is made from polycarbonate plastic, it offers many of the same benefits of traditional polycarbonate sheet. One of the biggest benefits to using multiwall polycarbonate sheets is its weight. At one-eighth the weight of glass, multiwall sheet will provide cost savings as they do not need the structural support as glass. Multiwall polycarbonate plastic can also be cold formed, which makes it ideal for use in curved applications such as arched walkways.
Multiwall comes in a variety of colors and custom colors from special orders. The multiwall panels resist cracks and splits during cutting and drilling due to its superior impact resistance. Like acrylic sheeting and polycarbonate sheeting, multiwall resists yellowing. Multiwall is also up to ASTM standards for flammability and its high thermal resistance.
