Types of HDPE

A&C Plastics recognizes the need for different types of high-density polyethylene sheeting, so we carry many different options to ensure we have what you need:

  • HDPE Pipe Grade: Pipe Grade is a popular HDPE plastic because it has improved performance and is UV stabilized, leading it to be more durable in outdoor applications.
  • Smooth HDPE: The low friction from smooth HDPE sheet plastic makes it ideal for many applications, including industrial cutting boards, tank linings, vacuum-formed parts and more.
  • Matte HDPE: The stability, quality, strength and cleanliness of matte HDPE sheets make them a great choice for indoor and food-related use. We also carry UV stabilized sheets for outdoor use.

Qualities of HDPE Sheet

HDPE plastic sheeting is one of the most versatile plastics on the planet and is used for everything from cutting boards to water bottles. High-density polyethylene sheets have many qualities similar to those of acrylic sheets and polycarbonate sheets, such as strong impact and abrasion resistance, as well as a low coefficient of friction. This lends itself to its stain, moisture and odor-resistant qualities.

HDPE plastic has high tensile strength and rigidity — significantly higher than those of lower density materials. As to be expected due to stiffness, it has a slightly lower impact strength.
